Below are the terms and conditions for the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Award.

By submitting to the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Award, you confirm you, the collective submitting or the individual, are the sole creator/s of the artworks and you have the rights and consents to license the images to Tasweer, and you attest that the artwork does not violate any third-party’s intellectual property rights.

By submitting your artwork, you will retain full copyright of your work, and agree to grant a license to Tasweer and its affiliates as stipulated below.

By submitting, you agree to grant Tasweer along with its affiliates and partners, a non-exclusive, irrevocable, non-transferable, except as explicitly set out herein, world-wide license to use, promote, and distribute your artwork for promotional and non-commercial purposes related to Tasweer and the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Awards including, without limiting the foregoing, to reproducing the artwork for digital publication.

All reproductions of the artwork including/without limited to print publication will give proper attribution to the artist. The artist will be notified to any print publication by Tasweer. The artist reserves the right to review and modify the reproduction of the artwork in print publications.

Tasweer does not have right to reproduce the artwork or its image for merchandising or selling purposes.

The artist has the right to revoke its non-exclusive license to Tasweer, and its affiliates following a signed revocation agreement between Tasweer and the artist. From the date of the signed revocation agreement, Tasweer will have a 90-day grace period before halting the use of the image. If a publication is in development before the signing of the revocation agreement, Tasweer has the right to continue the publication of the image digitally or in print. All past use of the image, prior to revocation of the license, will not be taken down and Tasweer reserves the right to maintain published assets on its digital platforms.

Tasweer agrees to raise awareness on artist’s rights and use its digital platform as a place to advocate the protection of artworks and the rights of artists. However, Tasweer will not be liable for the misuse of the artwork by a third party.

All submissions may be stored, archived and digitally preserved. Submissions will be published based upon this agreement and Qatar’s existing copyright laws.
