Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Single Image Award 2023

For the 3rd Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Single Image Awards, Tasweer invited the independent curator Rola Khayyat to select the 2023 awardees. Tasweer congratulates Mohamed Hoyzen Ahmed, Hussein AlAamri, Yousef Almasoud, Salaheddine El Bouaaichi, Samir Mustafa Abdel Fattah Hussein, Rita Kabalan, Mohamed Kaouche, Akram Menari, Ahmed Muhammed, Mohamed Nageeb Nasr, Michael Anthony Perrone, and Salem Sultan.

Rola Khayyat is a Lebanese interdisciplinary artist, educator and curator.  She is a graduate of Columbia University School of the Arts, the Florence Academy of Art and the American University of Beirut. Her work explores new dimensions on the representation of war, memory and belonging.  She is the co-curator, with Roï Saade, of the An Expression of Absence exhibition presented in two parts, simultaneously, at the Magnum Foundation and the Bronx Documentary Center in New York and bringing together a selection of photographers who have participated in the Arab Documentary Project Program since its commencement in 2014.
