About Marc Pelletreau.

Marc Pelletreau is an accomplished museum imaging specialist and the Head of Digital Assets at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), where he leads a highly specialised photography team in producing high-quality images of the museum’s collection. His team's work is frequently featured in global museum catalogues, books, and exhibitions, helping bring Islamic art to audiences worldwide.

With expertise in Digital Cultural Heritage, Marc has strong experience and a reputation as both a creative photographer and a as a technical imaging specialist. His skill set includes cutting-edge techniques such as ultraviolet and infrared photography, gigapixel resolution panoramas, and very high-colour-accuracy workflows. He’s also experienced in 3D scanning for digital heritage preservation.

Marc’s passion for photography extends beyond the museum. He has spent decades experimenting with street photography and continues to explore the intersection of art and technology. A former media production and photography teacher in Dubai, Marc has lived in Doha for over ten years, building a deep professional connection with Islamic Art and travelling extensively across the Middle East, both professionally and personally.

Christophe Buffet leads Qatar Museums newly established Digital Transformation task force, focusing on the long-term digital strategy for the organisation to reach digital maturity: planning and building a sustainable infrastructure that will catalyse innovation and storytelling, implementing standards, workflows and capacity building initiatives to optimise Qatar Museums digitisation and data reconciliation efforts. He recently led the delivery of ambitious in-gallery digital programmes for Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum and the National Museum of Qatar. Before moving to Qatar, Christophe produced digital content for a variety of museums and institutions in the UK, France, Belgium and Brazil.
