Tasweer 2025: 3rd Edition is proud to host the launch of Mous Lamrabat’s newest photobook at M7, offering audiences an intimate look into the bold, visionary world of one of today’s most dynamic image-makers.
Known for his striking blend of surreal compositions, rich color, and cultural fusion, Lamrabat creates a visual language that is deeply personal and universally resonant. Born in Morocco and raised in Belgium, his diasporic lens infuses his work with themes of belonging, identity, and duality, merging Western aesthetics with Moroccan tradition in ways that both confront and celebrate contemporary culture.
This photobook extends Lamrabat’s artistic exploration of diversity, individuality, and elevated representation, bringing together powerful imagery that challenges norms while remaining deeply joyful and human. Through humor, beauty, and an unfiltered sense of self, his work invites us into a world where difference is dignified and connection is key.
With major global brand collaborations under his belt—including WhatsApp and YSL—Lamrabat’s presence at Tasweer marks a milestone moment for the festival and for photography in the region.
Join us at M7 for an inspiring moment of photography, storytelling, and celebration.
ABOUT MOUS LAMRABAT

Born in 1983 in Morocco, Lives and works in Ghent, Belgium.
Mous Lamrabat is a Moroccan-Belgian photographer who, after graduating as an interior designer, became keenly interested in photography. A medium that brought him the satisfaction of spontaneous creativity and immediate success. Self-taught, he has reinvented the art of fashion photography, which he approaches with a sense of irony, a way of denouncing consumer society, blending ostentatious luxury and counterfeiting with Moroccan cultural references. His models, mostly with masked faces and bodies, appear against natural backdrops of Moroccan scenery. Lamrabat's aim is to show Moroccan culture from a fresh perspective. Moroccan-Belgian photographer Mous Lamrabat fashions a parallel universe, where he sinks his own multicultural brand through a blend of humour, empathy and irreverence. He cleverly subverts North African clichés, overlaying Western brands and pop culture with symbols abstracted from his Euro-African heritage and his own faith. The outcome? Exultation. Colour, boldness and skilful staging define his oeuvre, with an added positive energy that is as compelling as it is provocative.
