VII Foundation: Frame & Focus (Closing Program)
Presented in collaboration with QPS and Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar, this closing event showcases the works of Frame & Focus participants alongside talks and reflections from visiting artists. The Frame & Focus: Advanced Photography Course is a 12-week vocational programme presented by Tasweer in collaboration with The VII Foundation and QPS. Designed for emerging photographers in Qatar, the course offers a comprehensive blend of technical training, critical theory, and storytelling development.
Participants engaged in a dynamic learning experience through both online seminars and in-person workshops, exploring core photography genres and practices including outdoor, portrait, documentary, and object photography. The curriculum also placed strong emphasis on writing for visual storytelling, encouraging photographers to reflect critically on their work and its context.
The closing event marks the culmination of the programme, showcasing final projects by the participants—each consisting of a cohesive photographic series accompanied by a written essay. The event will feature a public exhibition of their work, alongside artist talks and reflections led by visiting instructors and mentors.
This final gathering celebrates the commitment and creativity of the cohort, while offering audiences a glimpse into the diverse visual narratives developed over the course of the programme.
